Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about booking and working at Baketown Studio.
01
What's included in a session?
Every session includes access to our control room and live room, basic setup and routing, headphone mixes for musicians, talkback communication, and use of our comfortable client area. You bring your project and instruments—we provide the space and technical infrastructure.
02
Can we record drums or a full band?
Yes, absolutely. Our live room is designed specifically with drums and full band recording in mind. There's enough space for a complete drum kit plus additional musicians. The large window between the live room and control room provides clear visual communication, making it easy to work together even when isolated for sound.
03
Do you provide an engineer?
Engineering is available as an optional add-on. If you're tracking a complex session or want professional assistance running the room, we recommend booking an engineer. For mixing or mastering sessions where you're working independently, you may not need one. Let us know your needs when booking.
04
How does payment and deposit work?
A deposit may be required to secure your booking, depending on the session length. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. We accept standard payment methods. Specific deposit requirements will be communicated during the booking process.
05
What's your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit. We understand that things come up—just communicate with us as early as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate.
06
Can we visit before booking?
Yes, we're happy to arrange a brief visit so you can see the space before committing to a session. Contact us to schedule a time. Visits are subject to studio availability and typically last 15-20 minutes.
07
What should we bring?
Bring your instruments, any specific gear you prefer to use, and your project files if you're mixing. We recommend bringing backup drives for your sessions. If you have specific microphone preferences or outboard gear you'd like to use, let us know in advance and we can discuss setup.
08
What are your studio hours?
Our standard hours are flexible to accommodate different schedules. Available time slots are shown in the booking system. If you need a session outside of typical hours, contact us to discuss possibilities.
09
Where in Berlin are you located?
